The Recycling program started out in the 1980s across Canada, and soon was expected of all Torontonians to Recycle. 40% of Torontonians recycle. The recycling program consists of blue box and gray box, but now its the green box is included as well!
The materials which you can put in your blue box, are:
Glass bottles and jars, metal cans, aluminum containers, plastic bottles and jugs.
The materials for your grey box are:
Household paper, paper egg cartons, rolls and bags, gift wrap and cards and boxboard (cereal, cracker, tissue boxes).
The new items for the blue box are:
Empty paint cans, empty aerosol cans, drink boxes (no straws), milk and juice cartons.
The new items for the grey box are:
Telephone books, magazines and catalogues, flatten corrugated cardboard and tie in bundles no larger than 60 x 60 x 30 cm (2 x 2 x 1')
